How To Actually Reach Your 2019 Goals

How is it January 1st already?

Honestly, it feels like this entire year flew by.

(As cliche as that sounds..)

I talked about setting 2019 goals in an instagram post a few days ago. (Which if you don't follow me on IG, you totally should. @slynnmcrae) #ShamelessPlug

But I’d like to chat a bit more about the topic of goal setting, because I feel like this is a great way to kick off 2019!

When it comes to New Years goals & resolutions, I am a HUGE FAN!

I think that setting goals (& setting them high) is the only real way to move forward in life. Otherwise you might as well be a sleepwalking robot with blinders on..

However, I think the reason why so many don’t accomplish their goals is because they lack execution & lack a plan.


You want to deadlift 200#, but what do you have to add into your daily workout program?

You want to get healthy and lose x amount of weight, but what daily habits do you have to change?

You have to ask yourself HOW & WHY.

Why do I even want to do this in the first place?

How am I going to accomplish this?

What daily, weekly & monthly changes do you have to make to achieve your lofty goals?

So.. I challenge you, if you haven’t already, to think about what you want out of this year.

Write it down.

Put it somewhere you’ll see it daily (Like maybe the home screen on your phone).


It doesn’t have to be detailed, because life is ever changing, but you have to start somewhere. Otherwise you might never start at all.
