Do I think that "lifting heavy" is for everyone? Yes, I sure do.

I can only imagine the amount of people that read that first statement & already got their panties up in a bunch. 😂 If that's you, just calm down for a quick second & keep reading.

If your primary goal is to get stronger & put on muscle, then yes you need to "lift heavy". BUT, even if that's not your primary goal there are still benefits to progressively putting your body under heavier loads. (Aka- Increased bone density)

Does that mean that I think grandma should be going for a 1RM Deadlift? Maybe not. But does she need to know how to safely & effectively pick up an object in front of her? Absolutely. Would it be beneficial for her to practice that inside of a gym & progressively lift heavier weights so she doesn't throw her back out picking up a bag of groceries? Absolutely.

Heavy is relative👉🏻 Which means that it depends on the individual & can be scaled accordingly so person still receives the positive neuromuscular stimulus of "heavier" weight training. 🏋🏼♀️
