If you feel like you've been working out forever, but not seeing the muscle in the mirror- I want you to ask yourself these questions.👇
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
What do your workouts look like?
Are you actually pushing yourself & weight training? Or are you on the cardio machines for half the workout? If you want to build muscle, you need to appropriately stress your muscles & lift weights. You're not going to wake up tomorrow looking like a professional bodybuilder (*cough cough*, ladies). So go pick up a barbell- with proper form of course. 😉
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
What does your diet look like?
This goes without saying, you can't out-train a bad diet. Your body needs proper fuel & so do your muscles.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Are you getting in enough protein?
You need ample protein in your diet for your body to be able to rebuild broken muscle tissue. I typically recommend (as a broad statement, everyone is different lol) starting around 1g per 1# of body weight.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Are you recovering enough?
Get in an ample 7-9 hours of sleep per night & don't forget about rest days! They're just as important as the workout itself.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
How long have you been strength training for?
It takes time for your body to put on muscle mass. If you just started weight training within the past 3 months... it's going to take a bit more time & consistency.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Are there a lot of factors? Yes, but that's no reason to become overwhelmed & give up!
